Semaglutide

    GLP-1 receptor antagonist indicated as an adjunct to a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity for chronic weight management
  • BMI of 30 or greater
  • BMI of 27 or greater in the presence of at least one weight related comorbid condition (DM, HTN, HLD)
  • Semaglutide should not be used in conjunction with other GLP receptor antagonists
  • Semaglutide is a weekly injection, on the same day each week, at any time of the day, with or without meals
  • Inject subcutaneously into the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm
  • Initiate at 0.25 mg weekly times 4 weeks. In 4 week intervals increase dose until 2.4 mg is reached
